A few words about Innolytics.

OvoControl represents “birth control” for birds. The technology was developed as an alternative for conventional lethal methods of abatement. Ideal deployment locations are larger facilities including manufacturing, power plants, refineries, chemical production, ports, campuses and hospitals. OvoControl is most often used where conventional techniques are either impractical or cost prohibitive.

 

WHAT WE DO

We make birth control for birds, most notably pigeons. Innolytics’ patented technology was developed in collaboration with USDA/APHIS. The active ingredient in OvoControl is formulated into bird friendly kibbles and fed to birds during their respective breeding season. The non-lethal and humane tool prevents the successful fertilization of eggs, and the population declines through natural attrition. OvoControl is considered environmentally benign.

Innolytics is located in La Qunita, CA. We are a privately held company developing contraceptive technology for wildlife. Innolytics’ product, OvoControl® (brand of nicarbazin) represents contraceptive control for birds. OvoControl is available directly through Innolytics, distributors or your Pest Management Professional.

MADE IN THE USA

Similar to commercial pet food, OvoControl® P is produced in an animal feed manufacturing plant. Our products are made with state-of-the-art extrusion equipment in an FDA inspected facility. All production follows strict Quality Assurance and Quality Control protocols, consistent with current Good Manufacturing Practices or cGMP. Innolytics is proud to manufacture our products in the USA.

Our Vision and Mission

Innolytics develops, manufactures and markets contraceptive solutions for birds.  Affectionately known as “Planned Pigeonhood”, the active substance in our product is inherently safe and humane, and environmentally benign.  Birds consuming a small quantity of treated bait daily, lay unfertilized eggs, an effect which is reversible. Without offspring, the population gradually but predictably declines through natural attrition.  Our mission is to introduce the technology globally, to provide an efficient and cost-effective alternative to lethal mitigation techniques.

What We've Achieved

The contraceptive effects of OvoControl are fully reversible, a remarkable attribute. Furthermore, the company has designed a controlled baiting system that virtually eliminates any impact on non-target birds. An automatic feeder is triggered at dawn and ensures that birds consume OvoControl quickly and efficiently, reducing any opportunity for non-target exposure.

This technology complements other techniques of bird management such as habitat modification, physical barriers, and hazing methods.

Detailed studies have confirmed that the active ingredient in OvoControl is environmentally benign. Furthermore, the hatchability of eggs from a bird of prey, such as a falcon, is not at risk by consuming treated pigeons.

This technology is ideal for larger areas where some pigeons can be tolerated but a significant reduction in population is needed.  Ideal locations to use OvoControl include manufacturing facilities, power plants, oil refineries, chemical production and hospitals. Other suitable sites include transportation hubs, dense urban areas, hotels, schools and airports.
