Putting peacocks on the Pill

Q: I recently heard about a new product that controls goose, duck and pigeon populations without hurting them. Can I use the same product on peacocks? Whenever they have an especially busy breeding season I find myself with too many sick and hurt young ones. It would seem like a good idea to keep their numbers at a manageable level.

A: That makes a whole lot of sense to me. Turns out, putting geese, ducks and pigeons “on the pill,” as it were, has become commonplace in many municipalities. It’s far preferable to the poisoning that pigeons suffer in places where their less-than-hygienic habits are reviled. Read the rest of this entry »
